“Twenty-one Christian farmers were killed by Fulani militants in four different villages of Kauru local government in Kaduna State,” locals told International Christian Concern last week.
The attackers came to the first village around 4pm on 26 April. Tribal leader Ezekiel Bini told the ICC that “the militants killed Irigwe Christians and burnt houses and a church”.
A local from Kauru spoke to the ICC about the attacks: “The militants first attacked Agwan Rimi village,” he said.

“There they killed twelve. Three are still missing and two survived with bullet wounds. From there, the militants entered Angwa Makera village. Houses were burnt, but nobody was killed. That village suffered much damage and one [person] received bullet wounds.”
“From there, the militants went to Kitakun village and burnt houses and destroyed the church. One person was killed in Kitakun. Agwan Magaji village was the last to be attacked that night. There the militants killed six. Three people survived bullet gunshots.”
Attacks by Fulani militants on this community have occurred repeatedly since 2016. It is reported that this area has lost over 600 people in that time, with many houses burnt and destroyed.
Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai is a Fulani Muslim himself and has remained silent regarding the killings. Local journalists Luka Biniyat and Steven Kefas were arrested and imprisoned for reporting on the persecution of Christians in Kaduna.

Please Pray
- Pray for healing and comfort for all those injured in the attacks on these four villages.
- Pray that State Governor Nasir El-Rufai will be convicted by the Holy Spirit and will publicly condemn the actions of the Fulani militants.
- Pray for an end to the increasing violence we have seen against Christians in this area of Nigeria.
Lord,
Have mercy on our dear brothers and sisters in Nigeria. Comfort and heal them who are injured and grieving. We continue to remember them and will not be desensitized to their ongoing pain and suffering. We pray for justice for your people and for the State Governor Nasir El Rufai to be convicted by the Holy Spirit. Sear his conscience we pray and the consciences of all those who plan and carry out violence against your people. We pray for their hearts to be softened and for them to be sickened by their own acts of evil. Open their eyes to Your truth Lord.
In Jesus’ Name we pray
Amen.
