One Chinese city is now offering to pay for information on anyone involved in “illegal religious activities”. Authorities in Guangzhou have offered rewards equalling as much as $2,100 to those reporting the activities.

The largest rewards are paid for information leading to the arrest of foreign religious leaders, while smaller amounts will be paid for tips leading to the closure of a foreign religious group.

One Christian told ChinaAid that the announcement prompted his group to stop distributing Christian leaflets in public.

  • Pray for Christians in Guangzhou as the government continues its crackdown on religious institutions that do not submit to the Communist Party.
  • Thank God that His plans cannot be thwarted by any human effort. Pray this latest tactic will prove fruitless.
  • Ask Him to continue to strengthen and grow His church in China.
