Danjuma was a 13-year-old boy when he was savagely attacked by Islamic extremists who invaded his village. He suffered such horrific injuries to his body that onlookers thought he had died. They even dug a grave for him but Danjuma defied all expectations and became a victorious survivor.
Danjuma has undergone multiple surgeries to repair the severe machete wounds to his eyes, head, arms and genitals. Sadly, the injuries to his eyes have left him totally blind. The scars on his face tell only half the story, Jesus in his life tells us something else. Danjuma has been given a smile that radiates from deep within his soul – it comes through forgiving!
Danjuma not only forgives his attackers but almost pities them for the condition of their hearts. “I forgive them because they don’t know what they are doing,” he said, echoing the words of Christ. “If they had love, they wouldn’t behave that way.”
VOM Australia and their partners have provided funds for Danjuma’s education at a school for the blind where he is learning braille. We also funded a new home for his mother which doubles as a grocery shop to provide an income for the family. Mama Danjuma expressed how grateful she is to God and the brethren who have made this possible. “This is something I would not have seen in my life, my son is now in school, we now have a better home and now we have this shop. We want to say thank you and may God bless you all.”
I think this is one of the most beautiful stories I have ever read and I admire Danjuma very much. He is very special and I pray for him every day. Even without his sight he can praise the Lord. We in Australia have no idea just how close these Christians in the Persecuted Church are with their relationship with Jesus.
I am so glad that Danjuma and his Family are so brave. I believe he will be used mightily by the Lord. Thank you for sharing his story. I know there are many others. I think of Weng and many more who are now orphans.

Waoh!so happy to see the whole world reading about the touching stories of Lil bro Danjuma, we really appreciate VOM Aistrilia for the wonderful support given to DANJUMA and his family, I will like you to also know that DANJUMA is doing very well in his school, he just had his second term holidays today and I was in his school to pick him back home to meet his mother who is always anticipating to have him around her. DANJUMA handed his report card for the term to me and to my surprise he came second out of the 11pupils in his class.
We return all glory to God and all that have stood by Danjuma, may God bless you.
Thank you so much for the news. Well done to Danjuma on his report card. God bless you all. From your brothers and sisters in Australia.
