under newly enacted anti-conversion laws were also among the reported incidents.

Since coming to power in 2014, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government has overseen a regime in which religious intolerance and violence has skyrocketed. Since the BJP’s rise to power, attacks on Christians in India have more than doubled.

Much of the increased intolerance and violence can be blamed on the impunity perpetrators of anti-Christian violence enjoy. Coupled with the anti-Christian rhetoric often espoused by BJP politicians, many radical Hindu nationalists feel they have the tacit approval of the BJP government when attacking Christians and their places of worship.

Let us pray.

  • Pray the Lord may use this increasing opposition to strengthen, refine and unite the church in India.
  • Pray for believers who are suffering; may they not grow weary or lose heart, but cling to God and the promises in His Word.
  • Pray that God will change the hearts of those in authority and that many will turn to Christ.
