Authorities arrested Aju Mathew as he took 14 poor children living in a Christian children’s home on a field trip in southern India. They then falsely charged him with human trafficking and the conversion of minors.
Aju spent 42 days in prison, enduring poor conditions and intense interrogations, but he also built relationships with other prisoners and shared his testimony. Despite the harsh treatment in prison, guards allowed Aju to have a Bible. Before he was released from prison, Aju gave the Bible to a Muslim who had recognised his own sin.
Aju, now free, reports he is closer to the Lord than he has ever been.
