A Christian father and his adult son were attacked by villagers while pumping water in Rajasthan state.
The two men went to the village water pump one evening for their nightly needs. A group of villagers were near the pump partying and drinking. They began yelling at the Christian men, saying, “You are Christians and have no right to have water!”

attacked the believers’ house with sticks, stones and axes.
The family was able to escape the house with minor injuries, but the water lines, water tank, pump and bicycles were damaged or stolen. The family’s pastor lodged a complaint with police against 26 of the attackers, who filed a counter complaint.
Let us pray.
- Pray for this family who continue to face threats in their village. Ask for healing, protection, grace and courage.
- Pray these two men would receive much care and support from their Christian family and community.
- Pray for provision. Ask God for justice.
Dear Lord
It grieves us to hear that this father and son children were treated so violently and with such hatred. We know Your Word tells us to expect these fiery trials. But it still saddens our hearts to hear our brothers and sisters suffer in this way. Oh Lord have mercy upon them. Protect them from further harm. Please heal them Lord, make them courageous, enable them to extend an arm of grace to those who hate them. Soften the hearts of their persecutors, that they would be sickened to the heart by their own violence. Provide for this father and son and their family, we pray, the things they need to live each day. And may Your holy justice prevail in this community.
