During interrogation, he was offered money to become an informant and was physically assaulted when he refused. According to rights group Article Eighteen, Hamed was forced to undergo Islamic ‘re-education’ classes, but after four sessions refused to attend more. Court proceedings were initiated against him.
On 7 March 2021, Hamed was summoned to Karaj Revolutionary Court to answer charges of “propaganda against the regime”.
The prison sentence was announced on 12 April. Hamed has been given ten days to present himself to Karaj Central Prison to begin his sentence.
Let us pray.
- Ask the Lord to strengthen and encourage Hamed as he waits to receive a summons to prison. Ask the Lord for His protection to be upon Hamed.
- Pray the Lord may use Hamed’s testimony as a witness for the Gospel.
- Thank the Lord for the way He is at work in Iran. Praise Him for the growth of the Iranian church and the bold witness of many believers.
