Ebrahim Firouzi has been imprisoned since August 2013 on charges, including “actions against national security”. He is presently being held at the Rajai Shahr Prison, considered one of the harshest in the country.
Ebrahim’s mother, Kobra Kamrani, died on Monday 3 December. She had cancer and had lost her eyesight. In the last month, her health deteriorated rapidly, and she pleaded with authorities to allow her son to visit her one last time, but her requests were denied.
Officials also denied Ebrahim’s requests to attend his mother’s funeral.
