In the past, the Islamic government of Iran banned Christian theological colleges from operating within the country.
The lack of formal training centres prevents most local pastors from receiving practical, hands-on theological instruction. Recently, some Iranian Christians who lead a network of house churches in Iran travelled to a nearby country where they learned how to conduct baptisms and communion services.

Those leaders have since returned to Iran to model these essential Christian ordinances to other house church leaders.
More than 97% of Iranians are identified by the government as Muslims, but a significant segment of the population has abandoned Islam, and many have come to faith in Christ.

Praying
All praise to you Lord Jesus. The harvest is plentiful. The workers are few. We rejoice with our sisters and brothers in Iran as they continue to be bold and suffer for Christ. We rejoice that you have raised up leaders to help grow the church in faith and knowledge and to disciple your followers. We praise you for this training opportunity and ask that the training will be further extended to strengthen the growing church in Iran.
We pray that many in Iran will trust Christ through the faithful witness of these church leaders. We thank and praise you for their faith and equipping. Give them a growing relationship with you, spiritual discernment and help them to be full of the Spirit that they might grow more like Christ.
We particularly pray for those believers in Iran who face opposition from family, community, and the Iranian authorities. May the words of Psalm 119 be there experience by faith in Jesus…
23 Though rulers sit together and slander me,
your servant will meditate on your decrees.
25 I am laid low in the dust;
preserve my life according to your word.
61 Though the wicked bind me with ropes,
I will not forget your law.
76 May your unfailing love be my comfort,
according to your promise to your servant.
107 I have suffered much;
preserve my life, Lord, according to your word.
110 The wicked have set a snare for me,
but I have not strayed from your precepts.
116 Sustain me, my God, according to your promise, and I shall live;
do not let my hopes be dashed.
Thank you for your word Father. Bless these your children.
Soli Dea Gloria.
