A woman in Iran is worried about her mother, a Christian woman imprisoned for her faith.
Mary was arrested earlier this year for her Christian activities. On a recent visit, Mary’s daughter noticed her mother couldn’t answer questions, responding only with one-word answers of either “yes” or “no”.
Mary’s daughter told VOM partners that her mother is depressed and is not her normal self. She is worried and asks for prayer.

- Ask the Lord to uphold Mary and bring physical, emotional and spiritual solace and strength.
- Ask the Lord to recall to Mary’s mind, promises found in Scripture to provide her with comfort.
- Pray for Mary’s release from prison and in the meantime, for her protection from evil. Ask God to somehow use what was meant for harm, instead for good.

Lord, we lift up Mary. Please work miraculously on her behalf. Fill her heart with hope and joy knowing you see everything and will greatly reward her for all she’s gone through. Send your angels to comfort her and May she even miraculously share her faith to others in that place, even guards. In Jesus mighty name amen.
Lord, I pray that you will lift Mary up in her spirit. I ask you to protect her and give her peace. Bring to Mary’s mind the scripture promises that you have given us. In Jesus precious name, Amen
‘For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.’ 2 Corinthians 1:5 (ESV)
Heavenly Father, please provide abundant comfort to Mary, so that Your word is proven true in her life. Please do it for Your Name’s sake. Amen
Lord Jesus,
Thank you for how you love Mary and her family. I pray for Mary to be strengthened in her faith and trust in You. I pray that You will protect her and provide encouragement in unexpected ways. I pray also for Mary’s daughter to be encouraged that You are at work, that people all over the world are praying and that she has great hope in You, such a faithful and amazing God.
Father, might You bring peace and hope to Mary, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Might she know that, “flesh and feet may fail but the Word of God endures forever”, that You would call to mind the steadfast hope that she has in Christ, that You might use for the good of Your Kingdom this imprisonment intended for harm. Lord, be with Mary. Reassure her that neither height nor depth nor power or authority, nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. Please provide for Mary as You know she needs, and might we as her brothers and sisters in Christ pray faithfully and fruitfully. Thank You for Mary’s faith, and might You bring Your Kingdom here. In Jesus’ Name.
