A pastor and his family have not left their home for more than 30 days after receiving threats from extremists. The pastor serves in a difficult area of the Middle East and has lived under pressure for many years.
Recently, an extremist group began sending threatening messages to his phone. Some of the messages contained video of the extremists holding large knives and making motions as though they were going to slit his throat.

His persecutors also appeared at his front door one day with automatic weapons, but the pastor and his family weren’t there. After the attackers left, the family remained at home for a full month to avoid trouble. Local police have not been helpful. A VOM worker who spoke to them said,
“His wife was a bit emotional when I asked her about how she was handling it with the kids, but they seem determined to stay there and love their neighbours.”
Let us pray.
- Ask the Lord for His shield of protection to surround this family. Pray they will be strengthened in their faith.
- Pray the plans of those who oppose them and their message may come to nothing. Ask the Lord to remove the hatred from their hearts and pour a new spirit into them.
- Pray that in spite of the threats, the message of the Gospel will continue to be proclaimed in the area.
Dear Pastor,
I thank God that you are part of the last day message that before Jesus returns that the message of the Gospel will be preached to all nations.

Almighty God you are the refuge for your people and the defender of the weak and oppressed. We pray for our brother and sister and their family who are suffering intimidation from extremists. Please strengthen their faith by your Spirit and a growing knowledge of you. May your grace sustain them and help them to be faithful witnesses to you throughout this ordeal. We especially pray for their enemies that they might come to call upon your name and be saved. lord have mercy.
Lord please protect this pastor from these threats to him his family and congregation. Please surround them with your Ruach Hakodesh, your angels and we plead your precious blood over them all.
Lord we pray those that seek to hurt them, hear your message and turn their lives to you and that you become their God too.. Lord where there is hatred sow your peace and love in these peoples hearts. May your gospel of truth be proclaimed, despite all that satan is doing to stop it.
In your mighty name we pray
Heavenly Father, we pray in Jesus’ name for this family, your servants. Please give them the comfort of the Holy Spirit, provision for all their needs and your angels to watch over them and keep them safe and strong. May their faith be strengthened and May the gospel go forth in their neighbourhood. May even those who are persecuting them receive a revelation of you, that you are the truth and the way to God. Bless our brothers and sisters in Jesus’ name, amen.
