What impacted me about Voice of the Martyrs was learning about the price that believers in restricted countries were prepared to pay. They were willing to deny themselves, pick up their cross, and follow Christ.
In my Christian experience up to that point, I had not seen such selfless dedicated commitment. It was like a New Testament church. It gave me great joy to share with the churches around Australia about our suffering family’s love for God and the fact that they were praying for us in the comfortable Western church that we be prepared for when our time comes. On a personal level, the impact on me was the way they were able to forgive those who hurt and hated them. Also, the faith that is seen in their resilience and strength to carry on the witness to Christ caused me to dig deeper into my relationship with Jesus.
The overall impact was enhanced further after reading the founder’s book ‘Tortured for Christ’ by Richard Wurmbrand and his wife Sabina. A must-read for every true believer. It is an honour and privilege to be part of the end-time church serving our Lord through Voice of the Martyrs and the dedicated team who work tirelessly to help our persecuted family.
