Boko Haram recently released a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIMrPQtvefc) that shows 11 Christians who were abducted by the militant group at the end of November, pleading for assistance from Christian groups and the Nigerian government.
Bwala and the 10 other captives are reportedly unsafe because of their Christian faith. They appealed to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to come and save them. Bwala also rebuked the federal government, saying that they had not done enough on behalf of the victims held by Boko Haram. He specifically cited that Leah Sharibu is with them and is still in custody, at least in part, because of the lack of action by the Nigerian government.

- Intercede for Bitrus, Leah and the other captives and plead for their release.
- Pray the Lord’s presence may be daily felt by the captives so that their strength will be continually renewed as they wait.
- Pray for the Boko Haram members, that they will face fierce condemnation from their own consciences. Pray they may be brought to repentance and salvation.
Post your prayer in the comments below.
Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you are able and abundantly capable to deliver both the captors and captives.
I pray for the arrest of the souls of the insurgents for their complete salvation as well as the deliverance of the captives without hurt in Jesus name.
Amen indeed with thanks. Prince of Peace, Wonderful Counsellor and God of Gods we thank you for Bitrus, Leah and the other captives and ask for your Holy Spirit to encourage and emboldened their hearts to continue to trust and put their hope in you. We thank you for their witness to Christ. Help them to remain true to you and fruitful even in these dire circumstances. Bless their families and those involved in negotiations for their release. Bring them home safely. We also pray that the captors would renounce ‘the faith’, violence and greed that so easily consumes, and give them ‘a heart of flesh’ reborn by your Spirit and all to your glory.
