The goal of the Anchor Bay Bible School, located in Mindanao, is to train and equip men and women across all areas of the Philippines to fulfill the Great Commission.
Persecution in many parts of the country is severe, especially in Muslim dominated Mindanao where many experience intimidation, pressure, violence and even death. The Bible school is vital to the expansion of Christianity in the Philippines and encourages young leaders to keep going, despite persecution.
Voice of the Martyrs Australia supports many students who would not be able to afford to go themselves. Many of the students know that God has called them but don’t have the resources or support for biblical training so VOM steps in to assist.
Students are trained in classes throughout the week and then equipped to begin ministering on the weekends by visiting hospitals, prisons and going house to house even in the remote mountainous areas of Mindanao.
As well as supporting the students at the ABBC Bible School in the Philippines, Voice of the Martyrs Australia is committed to supporting the staff and teachers too.
Last year, VOM Australia helped by financially supporting the teachers who are currently training students at the Bible school. The teachers are committed to equipping and training each student, believing that God will use them to minister across different regions of the Philippines.
The vision for this year is to see 100 new churches established and this is already beginning to take place, as students spend their weekends witnessing. After a week of study, teachers go with their students to minister across many areas.
