In 2019, Voice of the Martyrs Australia funded the printing and distribution of 4,200 copies of large print Bibles to Mongolia and China.
Voice of the Martyrs support workers visited the distribution areas and saw the peaceful distribution of the Bibles without any trouble or interruption from the government or police.
‘S’, 91 is an elder in one of the underground churches and received a Bible as a result of this project. He found the Bible increasingly difficult to read due to his macular degeneration and age-related cataracts. He could only read a few pages in an hour and preparing Sunday’s message would take him many hours. Now, after receiving a large print Bible he says he enjoys reading without difficulty and can read more and more every day. He is thankful to VOM for their support.
“I encourage our members here to read and hold the Scriptures in their heart. If one day the government promoted the corrupted version of the Chinese Bible and forbid us to read the Bible, we need to have the word of God in our mind and practise it in our daily life to live and witness for Christ.” He says.
Bible distribution will continue. Church leaders have asked for prayer so that more Chinese Bibles could reach persecuted Christians in China and Mongolia.
