A church in the Nuba Mountains was destroyed in a bombing on Sunday 30 November, during a worship service.
The congregation fled the building after hearing the planes pass overhead several times, so no one was injured in the attack. The area was bombed again just days before Christmas.
VOM works closely with this congregation, and the church has served as a distribution point for Bibles and relief goods. VOM also supports several front-line workers through this church.
In Sudan, Christians face poverty, war and genocide. Arab-Sudanese are trying to eradicate black Sudanese in the Nuba Mountains, where Christian villages face daily bombings by the Sudanese military. The government is trying to eliminate all Christian villages, churches, hospitals and schools in an effort to Islamise the country.

- Please pray the Lord our God will defend and preserve Christians in Sudan and provide all their needs.
- Pray He will protect and deliver them from those that wish to harm them. Pray also for those who oppose the Gospel and the Lord’s people in Sudan.
- Pray the Lord will give the Christians in Sudan a peace which passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
