Project: Help for Christians in Pakistan.

Last year Voice of the Martyrs, together with our supporters, was able to help many persecuted Christians in Pakistan.

A summary of the field report is below:

Although 2020 was challenging in many ways, by the grace of God, the work of the Lord continued.

This project provided support to Christians facing systemic discrimination in Pakistan, due to their faith.

The project funds allowed us to provide struggling families with Bibles, food and other necessities plus a Christian education for their children. Ongoing education will help equip them for future employment. We received a video from one of our education centres, showing the kids at school, worshipping the Lord. We noticed that none of the children were wearing shoes. It was because the parents could not afford them. The project funds also enabled us to provide 135 pairs of shoes to these children.

We were also able to set up temporary medical camps in Christian communities. Medical aid was provided free of charge as Christians in Pakistan are mostly unable to afford treatment.

We currently have five pastors working with poor village Christians in various areas, supporting them spiritually and physically.

Project: Christmas Care China

Project: Christmas Care China

Christmas Care 2020 blessed Christian children living in remote villages in China.

A summary of the field report is below:

Children in three remote villages were blessed with Christmas Care packs in December. It took between eight to ten hours for us to travel to each village. The villages do not have electricity or running water. The residents rely on river water for drinking, cooking and washing.

Each Christmas Care pack contained a children’s Bible, Christian story books, school supplies, a Christian themed t-shirt, a toothbrush, toothpaste and biscuits.

At each distribution, we shared God’s Word with the children. We asked the children a question after sharing with them. The question, “Who is Jesus?” was answered with confidence. We heard, “Son of God” and “Saviour of the world” amongst the answers. The children were delighted with the Bibles and story books, filled with colourful pictures. They were very happy to receive all the other gifts too. Their parents are poor and unable to supply much beyond basic needs.

2017 Financial Report

Your generous donations enable us to maximise your gifts into the field of service by supporting our persecuted brothers and sisters. As the Scripture above says, honour the Lord with your gift, we too partner with you to honour your gift by being accountable before God in administering these ‘first fruits’ of your labour. The charts below illustrate how and where we have spent the 2017 accumulated funds within the financial year.

Thank you for your ‘honour’ gift.

“Honour the Lord with your possessions, And with the first fruits of all your increase.” Proverbs 3:9 (NKJV)

PROJECT: Educational Scholarships

PROJECT: Educational Scholarships

In 2018 Voice of the Martyrs Australia is helping to fund educational scholarships for 35 children of poor pastors in Vietnam.

These funds have been received with extreme gratitude. Some of the pastors have been held in prison for their faith in Christ.

Below is an excerpt from a letter received from a scholarship recipient (identifying features have been removed for security reasons).

“I am the child of a prisoner sentenced to eight years in a detention centre.

Thank the Lord, thank you, my benefactor for helping my family in a very difficult situation. We were born and raised in a Christian family, my father was in prison, so we faced a very miserable situation. Being treated with hostility, growing up in living conditions that are always anxious.

Nevertheless I try to study hard and hope in the future I can serve the Lord and find a job to earn money to help my mother. My mother was working day and night and worked hard for the family and support for my father in prison.

We are extremely grateful to the benefactors who helped me with the scholarship in this difficult situation.

May the Lord bless you abundantly, and give you many opportunities to help the persecuted pupils.”
