On Sunday 20 July, officials from the Committee on Religion interrupted a worship service of the International Church in Tajikistan, which meets in a building owned by the Russian Baptist Church, to question leaders about the church’s government registration. They continued to question the building’s manager as well as worshippers in attendance for about an hour before leaving.
Leaders from the International Church said local believers are even more vulnerable to harassment and intimidation than the foreigners who attend the international services. They requested prayers not only for their own congregation but also for those who attend the Russian Baptist Church.
At least three other churches have received similar visits in the past month.

- Ask the Lord to use this recent opposition to spur them on to unity and continued love for one another.
- Pray these believers may act as a witness for the Gospel. Pray they will rely on the Lord to give them the words to say when standing before accusing authorities (Matthew 10:19). when they stand before accusing authorities.
