Christian workers in Turkey report that restrictions put in place due to the global pandemic have hit Iranian refugees hard.
Many of the refugees lost everything when they fled their country because of persecution for their Christian faith; and now, many have lost the low-paying jobs they had obtained in Turkey and are struggling to feed their families.
In addition, they have little access to health care because the basic medical care provided to refugees has been stopped. “Some of our students who are unwell have avoided seeking medical treatment and are now in a critical situation,” a Christian worker wrote. Pray for these Iranian believers, who are far from home and may feel desperate.

Blessed and all providing Lord God, we praise you as the one whose will cannot be thwarted and the one who remains good despite all appearances to the contrary. We thank you for your protection and compassionate sovereign care of your people in Turkey especially the Iranian Refugees who are severely unsupported and constrained at this time. Please Lord Jesus, provide for your people as they seek first your kingdom and righteousness (Matthew 6Vs33). Use your people to provide for your people in need. Show grace upon grace and may there be unity of Spirit within the community of the followers of Christ and may this mark of LOVE be a tremendous witness to your glory and the person and work of Jesus. We pray especially for VOM Australia’s connections in Turkey and for effectiveness in sharing the Gospel and serving the Iranian refugees. Psalm 9Vs9-10 says, “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” May this be their experience!
