Three children in Uganda have been living on their own since their grandmother forced them out of her home for becoming Christians.
Penny, Elijah and Charity’s parents are Muslim. When it was time for Penny, the oldest, to attend school her parents couldn’t afford it. A teacher in her grandmother’s town agreed to teach the children, so they moved in with their grandmother.
Soon after their schooling started, their grandmother noticed the children talking about Jesus and sneaking away to attend Sunday school. The grandmother forced the three children, aged 12, 10 and 6, to leave her house, offering no support.
Penny cared for the other two as best she could with help from their teacher. The teacher asked for help from a VOM-supported frontline worker, who has agreed to care for them.

- Thank God for the care Penny, Elijah and Charity are receiving. Pray these precious children will grow in knowledge of the One who truly loves them.
- Ask God for provision for the frontline worker as he cares for them. Pray too for wisdom as future plans for the children are considered.
- Ask God to bring the transforming power of the Gospel to the hearts and minds of the children’s parents, grandmother and community.

Lord we know what its like to lose a family for following you, so we pray for these three children, that Lord despite what has happened to them, that they remain strong and true to you, just as you have enabled us to do.
Lord help them to grow in you, and teach them your ways, so that their family can see that these children are not evil, nor done anything wrong, but that they have found the one and only True God. May their family come to salvation also. Lord we pray for the person willing to help them, that you will provide all they need to do so and Praise God for them.
