Have you noticed that many people have changed their Facebook profile picture to the above Arabic letter? Why?

Arabic letter n

Last week militant group ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham) located in Mosul started marking Christian homes with the Arabic letter N short for the word Nassarah, a term used for Christians in the Koran. Christians were told to convert to Islam, pay a protection tax (a Jizya) or die by the sword.

Christians have been leaving Mosul in droves. Before 2003 estimated number of Christians was 60,000, by June this year it was down to 35,000 now it is believed that there are very few Christians left, if any at all in the city.

Christians around the world are using this Arabic symbol as a way to say that we are standing with you, we are bound with you.

How can you help?

Pray: God will protect the Christians who are forced to leave their homes.

Stand: Change your profile image to indicate you are bound with them (Hebrews 13:3).
