Twen is imprisoned in a shipping container for engaging in Christian activities. She is an amazing Christian woman who continues to endure terrible beatings and torture at the hands of Eritrean prison guards.

 Bakhrom KholmatovBakhrom Kholmatov
Tajikistan | Imprisoned since 2017
KNB officers raided the Sonmin Sonbogym (Good News of Grace) Protestant Church and arrested Pastor Bakhrom Kholmatov on 10 April 2017. He was sentenced to three years in prison. Church members were harassed and beaten as officers confiscated items from the church including the pastor’s computer.

Eritrea | Imprisoned since 2007
Pastor Oqbamichel Haiminot is a senior pastor of the Kale Hiwot (Word of Life) Church. He became the first senior Eritrean church leader to be imprisoned for his Christian activities in 2003. At that time, he spent a few weeks in prison. In 2005 Pastor Oqbamichel was rearrested. After four months of inhumane circumstances, he suffered a mental breakdown and was released. In 2007, he was rearrested and remains imprisoned in the 5th Police Station.

Eritrea | Imprisoned since 2007
Mussie Ezaz was arrested in September 2007. He was arrested because of his work evangelising and developing a ministry to youth at the Kale Hiwot (Word of Life) Church. As with other Christians imprisoned in Eritrea, Mussie has never been tried or charged. His family has no idea whether he will ever be released.

Pastor Zhang Shaojie of Nanle County Christian Church in Henan Province, is currently serving a 12-year prison term. He was charged with “gathering a crowd to disrupt the public order” and a fabricated fraud charge.

 Ebrahim-FirouziEbrahim Firouzi
Iran | Imprisoned since 2013
Ebrahim has been arrested several times for his Christian activities. Beginning in January 2011 he was accused of evangelising, apostasy and associating with foreign organisations. He was held for 154 days. He was ‘conditionally’ released, meaning he could be re-arrested any time to complete his sentence. In 2013 Ebrahim was re-arrested and charged with: organising evangelistic activities; circulating information against Iran’s Islamic regime; and administering a Christian website.

Alimujiang Yimiti, a house church leader, was arrested in January 2008. He was arrested because of his Christian witness.

Pastor Haile Nayzgi was arrested by security police for leading a church comprised of over 100 house groups.

Lacheng Ren is a founder of a Christian bookstore in Taiyuan. Along with an employee Wenxi Li, he was arrested and sentenced to prison for this role in the Enyu Bookstore in Taiyuan.

Imran Ghafur MasihImran Ghafur Masih
Pakistan | Imprisoned since 2010
Imran Ghafur Masih was accused of burning pages of the Koran. Imran was cleaning his brother’s retail shop and while he was burning the rubbish, pages of an Islamic book flew into the fire and burned.

Asia BibiAsia Bibi
Pakistan | Imprisoned since 2009
Asia Bibi, a Christian mother, was sentenced to death for blasphemy. Her neighbour accused Bibi of insulting the prophet Mohammed. While she maintains her innocence, an accusation of blasphemy is enough to warrant the death penalty in Pakistan. Bibi was sentenced in November 2010. She is the first woman ever to receive the death sentence for blasphemy in Pakistan.

Yang Hua
China | Imprisoned since 2015
Yang Hua, one of the pastors of Huoshi Church, Guizhou province, has been held in police custody since 9 December 2015. He was detained after he resisted the authorities’ attempts to confiscate church property. Officials accused him of the crime of “obstruction of justice” and “gathering a crowd to disturb social order”.

Eritrea | Imprisoned since 2004
Dr Kiflu Gebremeskel is the chair of the Eritrean Evangelical Alliance, a senior pastor and leading figure in the Full Gospel Church. He has been in prison since May 2004. He was arrested in an early morning raid on his home in Asmara, the capital of Eritrea.

Kidane WeldouKidane Weldou
Eritrea | Imprisoned since 2005
Pastor Kidane Weldou disappeared. He is presumably being detained by Eritrean security forces. Pastor Weldou is married and has four daughters. He is a senior pastor of the Full Gospel Church and has been a leader in the church for many years. He is also a member of the executive committee of the Gideons International in Eritrea.

ReleasedRecently Released Prisoners of Faith
Praise God for released prisoners. Your letters and prayers make a difference! While Yuri Pak was in prison, many people wrote letters of support to him. Yuri’s wife Olga, wrote to VOM, saying, “Our family is extremely grateful to each one of you for your prayers and letters with words of encouragement and faith. Your prayers and letters helped us to go through this difficult trial without losing our faith and courage.”
