Pastor Ebrahim leads an unofficial church in Yemen. One day, while the church gathered for worship and prayer, a dozen armed men burst into the church and aimed their weapons at Ebrahim and the congregation.
The leader of the armed men pointed a gun at Ebrahim’s head, threatening to kill him. Ebrahim prayed and encouraged his congregation: “Be at peace; in a few moments we will be with Jesus,” he said.

As peace filled the room, one of the armed men called off the attack, and as the group left, they took all the church’s equipment and Bibles. “Ebrahim is happy that, somewhere in Yemen, stacks of Bibles are laying for someone to pick up and learn about Jesus,” a frontline worker said.

Let us pray.
- Praise God that He was at work through Ebrahim to diffuse the situation.
- Pray for Ebrahim and his congregation to remain firm in faith amid hostile opposition.
- Pray that the stolen Bibles may advance the Gospel to those who do not yet know Christ.
God of the Nations and rulers of all peoples we thank you for the faithful your people in Yemen and their witness to Jesus. In Proverbs 16:9 we read, “ 9 The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” We praise you that you were at work through Ebrahim to diffuse the situation and permitted peace to overcome violence and life to overcome death.
We pray for Ebrahim and his congregation to remain firm in faith amid hostile opposition. Give them a strengthened faith in your providential care, provision and protection and pour out your Spirit upon them as they bear the fruit of the Spirit and testify to your grace.
We plead that the stolen Bibles may advance the Gospel to those who do not yet know Christ. We ask that people may read hem and that through the power of the Gospel many may be saved and be used by you to save and equip others. Continue to have mercy Lord and bless your work in Yemen.
