INDIA: From the Field

Chhattisgarh is one of a growing number of Indian states to have passed anti-conversion laws. The anti-conversion laws have established a climate of intolerance, encouraging mobs of Hindu radicals to attack religious minorities.

In this photo, supplied by one of our front-line workers, the local Hindu fanatics are vowing to boycott the Christian community in Chhattisgarh State. This means they will refuse to buy or sell anything with the local Christians; the Christians will also be prevented from catching public transport. The aim is to socially isolate the Christians and make their lives intolerable.

Our front-line workers are asking for prayer.

    Pray for them

Ask the Lord to unify and strengthen the local Christian population to encourage one another and to support and care for each other during this time.

Pray too that they will respond with love and kindness to those who persecute them and in doing so, act as strong witnesses for Christ.

Pray particularly for church leaders as they care for those who are suffering.
