Emergency medical care: Vietnam
Persecution of Christians in Vietnam frequently occurs in the highland areas. While imprisonment is less likely than in previous years, enticement, threats, confiscation or destruction of property, as well as physical attacks are now the tactics commonly used in an attempt to halt church growth. Our extensive network of front-line workers in Vietnam frequently receives news about believers who have been injured through targeted violence by local authorities. Each year we fund medical treatment, prescriptions and stays in hospital. Sadly, this fund also extends to funeral costs for those believers who succumb to their injuries, as well as provision for their families.
Please pray for individuals and families who are the only Christians in their village; they are often subject to severe persecution. Pray for those recovering from persecution-related injuries and families who are in mourning.
Mobile medical clinics: Egypt
Each year we fund mobile medical clinics in Egypt. In 2024, five clinics were run in different villages in Upper Egypt and Alexandria. Over 750 people had consultations and received free medications based on the results of their examinations. The clinics have two objectives: Firstly, to provide medical care for persecuted Christians, especially Muslim background believers, who face discrimination and targeted violence. Secondly, they are used as an outreach to Muslims.
Ten Christian doctors with various specialisations volunteered their services. These doctors are not only committed to providing excellent care but are also dedicated to sharing the Good News with patients through the compassionate service they offer during medical examinations. The doctors pray with the patients and the contact details of those interested in knowing more are given to a VOM front-line worker for follow-up.
Please pray that the Christians who receive care see it as a blessing from God and for those who are not believers – that these gospel seeds will be used by Him to bring spiritual transformation.
